The E-Commerce trend in Thailand has been growing constantly, especially during these past few years, which has been growing exceptionally strong. NECTEC’s Thailand E-Commerce Status 2006 Report shows that there were as many as 22,039 E-Commerce businesses in Thailand; 75 percents were B2C businesses, generated 11,392 Million Baht in value of transactions while B2B businesses, which were accounted for 20 percents, generated 66,095 Million Baht in value of transactions.

The positive trend of Thailand E-Commerce business is also reflected by the interest in Thai community from eBay. Together with Sanook.com, they established a new E-Commerce website. This is only one of many samples that show the strong potential of Thailand’s E-Commerce market.

Bank of Thailand’s Payment Report 2006 also states that there were 2,139,325 people who accessed to banks’ services via Internet, 16 percents increased from the year 2005, and the transactions had the value of 3.58 Million Baht, 32 percents increased from the year 2005. This report shows that online transaction is gaining more trust and popularity among banks’ customers.

Kasikorn Research Center’s #2005 Report states that in 2006, there were 8,500,000 people in Thailand who used Internet, and that the number will reach 10,500,000 within the year 2008. Thus, the market size is tremendous. This signals a great opportunity for E-Commerce Magazine to organize E-Commerce E-Business Expo 2007, where we will be the link between all target parties to match up their different needs.

Differentiations from Other IT Events

1. The focus of the exhibition will be on the “E-Commerce and Wireless Services”. This is because the new lifestyle has changed the way people today communicate and interact. Social Network has become an important part of the new lifestyle. Thus, the demand for wireless high-speed Internet is increasing sharply, compared to the past. Not only comsumers, but also enterprises and organizations are affected by this change into an Internet lifestyle and have to adapt themselves into the E-Commerce areas.

2. E-Commerce E-Business Expo 2007 concentrates on educating the audience “How to Build Wealth on the Internet”, in which we are supported by government and private and public companies. Visitors will reach the information and the best practice knowledge that will help them make and build their wealth generated online businesses.

The exhibition is divided into 3 zones. The first zone is the “E-Commerce Solutions” zone, which will inspire and educate visitors who want to establish E-Commerce business and will benefit E-Commerce companies who seek new tools and services to improve and strengthen their websites and businesses.

Another zone is the “Wireless Services” zone. In this zone, visitors will be introduced to the latest telecommunication technologies that enhance the connection via high-speed Internet allowing users to accomplish tasks on the Internet more effectively.

The last zone is the “Business Models” zone, which will feature many success stories of E-Commerce businesses, such as, online travel websites, hotel reservation websites, online entertainment websites, online retail websites, and online trading websites, etc. These success cases will inspire and educate visitors that online business can be done by everyone.

3. We intend to build “E-Commerce Customers”, which, on the consumer side, consist of people who have used an Internet transaction, people who have never used an Internet transaction but want to use, and even people who have no idea how to use an Internet transaction, and on the business side, consist of organizations that want to utilize the Internet channel and organizations that already have the Internet channel but need to improve and learn of new technology. Once these consumers and businesses have the chance to see, understand and trust all the E-Commerce services and products, they, then, become part of the E-Commerce community.

Purposes

1. To build “E-Commerce Community” as a way of sharing knowledge, expanding businesses, inspiring entrepreneurs and business owners, and supporting developers in Thai E-Commerce industry.

2. To motivate SMBs to see the benefit of E-Commerce and build their businesses by matching up with both large and small service providers, and to study from the cases of successful E-Commerce websites that also participated in the exhibition.

3. To become a link for government, organizations, companies and businesses to support and educate the new generations, such as, students, employees, and business owners who want to build wealth on the Internet, of wireless technology and solutions.

4. To be an opportunity for SMBs and individual customers to “choose” the right products and services that suite with their business needs. For example, an E-Commerce business choosing between hiring website developer companies and buying an instant website creating software program.

5. To promote products and services that are available only on the Internet by offering visitors to have a direct experience with those products and services in order to give them the first experience, which will build “trust” to the onilne businesses.

Activities

1. E-Commerce Solutions Zone This zone is the area where the information and knowledge about E-Commerce are provided for the current and prospect business owners. Visitors of this zone will realize that it is not difficult to create a website for E-Commerce since there are many reliable Thai companies who are providing “Solutions”, such as e-payment systems and tools for SMB sector.

On the other hand, it is also a great chance for Thai software developers to show their capacities and make connections with the customers. It is an opportunity for both small developers and website creators to learn new technology and expand knowledge about website and E-Commerce. mai also encourages SMB sector to invest in E-Commerce by raising funds from the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Exhibitors in this zone include IT companies who have “Solutions” for hardware and software sections, such as Internet security, database systems for valuable customers and sales transactions. Their experience and practices are essential to the SMB sector who wants to start using E-Commerce as a business tool.

2. Wireless Services Zone This zone represents the future world where “the Network” is provided through wireless high speed Internet. The connection is easily reached by end users via their laptop, mobile phone and PDA, which are the preferable media for Wireless technology. Applying to the websites, they can be the most profitable communication systems for building E-Commerce.

Exhibitors in this zone are telecommunication and Internet service providers, network solution providers and mobile communication system companies who offer communication advantages that enhance the capacity of the SMB sector and lead the business trend in Thailand to the Wireless business society.

3. Business Models Zone This is a destination for those who want to build wealth using E-Commerce and a showcase for both SMB sector and large companies who succeed from E-Commerce even with limited budget. The various business models include online travel planner, online advertising, online shopping and auction, online ticket, online game, online education, job provider, digital contents for download and even online investment.

Exhibitors in this zone are Thai business service providers who are willing to share knowledge on how to make profit through E-Commerce. 4. Seminar Rooms Within Hall 3, there is a Main Seminar Room which will focus on educating audience with major topics concerning E-Commerce, such as, E-Commerce for travel businesses, E-Commerce securities and payment systems, tools for website development and IP technology services. The first day of the Seminar will concentrate on business-related subjects while the later days will feature wider scope topics, such as, online selling tactics, success stories of E-Commerce SMBs and enterprises, technology update which will set new standard for Thai business.

Seperated from the Main Seminar Room are three Group Seminar Rooms, which will focus on in-depth and special subjects following the rooms’ themes. The first room is for Business Owner Group. The seminar subjects are knowledge and information that E-Commerce business owners should know. For example, E-Commerce laws, government services, e-Logistic and online marketing. The next room is for Developer Group, which will present topics such as website security development, Web 2.0 technology and mobile softwares. The last room is design for General Users Group. The sample topics for this group seminar are online entertainment, online payment and how to create a personal website.
